Last weekend I placed an order for some gorgeous Michael Miller Nevermore fabrics from Rainbow silks http://www.rainbowsilks.co.uk/ and as a result was entered into a prize giveaway………and I won!
These are the fabrics I ordered – not sure what I’ll make from these yet.
And this bunch of goodies is my prize! A lovely combination of things I use quite regularly and some things I haven’t used at all; the book by Alysn Midgelow-Marsden is delicious to look at and has some inspirational projects to try.
Branch Anniversary 2014 is the 60th anniversary of the Edinburgh branch of the Embroiderer’s Guild. One of the projects for this event is for all the members to make a fabric postcard, these will then be stitched together and displayed at an exhibition in the Summer.
The themes we were given to choose from were ’60’, ‘diamond’ or ‘Edinburgh’; this is my finished postcard.
I used a white rayon machine embroidery thread twisted with sparkle and holographic filament threads to stitch the diamond so it really catches the light; I used lurex threads for the fireworks. I’m pleased with how sparkly and celebratory the finished result is.
